The Young Virtuosi festival, in an exciting new celebration of young and scintillating music talent, all set against the background of Castlereng and Limoux, an idyllic and untouched corner of Southern France in the Languedoc. The festival is the brainchild of London-based entrepreneur and avid music supporter Christiane Wuillamie, and was created to provide a unique opportunity to showcase exceptional and international young artists, and offer the artists themselves crucial and potentially career-defining performance experience, as they pursue varied and global careers as soloists, chamber musicians and orchestral players.
The festival gives the ‘next generation’ of global musical talent the chance to gather together, rehearse and share ideas and inspiration, culminating in a special series of performances in the picturesque locations of Castlereng and Limoux’s historic churches. The festival is as special an experience for its audience members as it is for the performers. Under the baton of conductor William E. Kunhardt, the festival’s resident orchestra will present a series of concerts, showcasing not only the genius of the great repertoire and composers they perform, but also the fresh, vibrant and utterly committed style of playing that is the hallmark of the ensemble’s youth and virtuosity.
The festival is committed to an exciting programme of expansion and development and is dedicated to both the development of the artists it showcases and to the growth and prominence of the Young Virtuosi Festival as a force in musical performance in the world today.
