"Expand Your Horizons in the South of France"

Young Virtuosi Master Course will be offered from 13-21 July 2008 at the village of Castelreng near Limoux, and Tournou le Haut, the hilltop home of Christiane Wuillamie and John Childress, located just 24km south of the medieval town of Carcassonne in the South of France. The Master Course is designed for talented young musicians aged 10 -16 whose first instrument is violin at Grade VIII or of a similar standard recommended by their teacher. The Master Course is over nine days and includes musical instruction which will incorporate subjects such as: master classes, individual lessons, supervised practice, ensemble, musicianship and choir.

Typical daily schedule consists of individual lessons and supervised practice in the morning. Each student receives individual lessons and supervised practice on alternate days (four individual lessons during the Master Course) as well as musicianship classes on alternate days. Afternoons are focused on ensembles, choir and master classes.
Evenings are devoted to the concerts. All young artists will have the opportunity to perform in the concerts alongside the Young Virtuosi Faculty.

Social activities include trips to Carcassonne for a medieval jousting show, an evening concert as part of the Carcassonne Music Festival, the Bastille Day fireworks display and an aerial high ropes course at Lac de la Cavayère.
